So I posted some time back that Finley wanted to be a Mini Cooper for Halloween. The kid is totally and completely obsessed with Minis. I was super stumped on this one but I'm lucky to have a handy dandy husband who was up for the challenge. We both admit that it doesn't really look like a Mini Cooper (more like a Jeep/Mini hybrid) but Finley thinks it does so we're happy with it.
We let him take it for a test drive tonight and he didn't want to stop.
Now to get started on Oliver's costume. He originally wanted to be a VW Beetle but has changed his mind to a ghost (thank goodness!). Does anyone have any fun ideas on dressing up a ghost costume other than a plain sheet? I'd love to hear if you do.
How cool! Great job on that one guys!!! I'm very impressed!
ReplyDeleteVery crafty! I was wondering how you were going to pull that off. And thank goodness Oliver changed his mind!!
ReplyDeletemy little guy wants to be a skeleton boy. so....i bought black cotton pants and the long sleeve tee. and will applique the actual skeleton bones with white fabric. this might work with the ghost as well!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit wonky but we can live with it :)
ReplyDeleteEight, I love the idea of appliqueing the bones. I tried to talk Oliver into the same thing but he's dead set on the ghost. Please share pictures when you finish your little guy's costume - I'd love to see!
Marvelous job, I love it! And Oliver will make the cutest ghost, can't wait for the pics!
ReplyDeletePT is dead-set on being a knight...and still trying to figure out what the twins should be...kinda want to do a pair theme you know like peas & carrots or some sort of character combo like batman & robin...but still haven't come up with anything.
Ninali, a knight would be fun to put together! You've got to do a theme for the twins...what about bacon and eggs? That wouldn't too hard with some felt. You have to take pictures of those cuties in their costumes for me!
ReplyDeleteOh, my!! That is the best costume ever!!! You two are so talented!!!! I seriously have costume envy. :)
ReplyDeleteBefore settling on Darth Vader (grr...) my son wanted to be a ghost! I was so excited, and thought it was such a classic choice. I was going to dress him in white clothes and drape him in cheese cloth. I also had wanted to burn out eye holes...that was as far as I got before he decided to be Darth.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Grace, bacon eggs would be perfect and hilarious!! I have to see if I can make that work!
ReplyDeleteAimee, cheese cloth with burnt out eye holes is a fabulous idea!! I'm thankful that my guys are still little enough not to be obsessed with any superheros or Star Wars characters yet - I'm sure that will come next year. Thanks so much for the suggestion.
ReplyDeleteYou could totally make it work, Ninali. I bet April would have some ideas on how to do it :)
ReplyDeleteGrace, this is great!!! He looks so happy with his costume!! Love it! Great job.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace - Just came across this blog and this costume is just too cute! I am with minimania.com and I would like to mail a little something for Finley. If you would like please email me at kellip@minimania.com.
